The 2028 Superficial Siderosis Symposium Is Heading to London

London is calling! The Superficial Siderosis Research Alliance is excited to announce that our next Superficial Siderosis Symposium is planned for June 2028 in London.

Our Board of Directors has voted to move forward with planning, and a planning committee is now at work organizing the two-day event. Exact dates are still being finalized, but we couldn’t wait to share the news!

Whether you’re getting your passport ready or planning to join us online, we look forward to bringing our international superficial siderosis community together again.

The symposium will bring together people living with superficial siderosis, families, caregivers, clinicians, and researchers to learn, share experiences, and build connections.

We have reached out to our presenters, and their enthusiastic response to the prospect of traveling to London has been an encouraging start to the planning process.

Building on Our Inaugural Symposium

Our inaugural symposium taught us a great deal about what worked well and where we need to improve. As we prepare for London, we will build on those successes and use the lessons learned to create a better experience for everyone taking part.

Learning from the Gremlins and Glitches

We also remember the technical gremlins and glitches that interrupted the live online presentations at our inaugural symposium. Those interruptions were frustrating for everyone watching and for our team. We understand the disappointment of setting aside time to participate, only to have technical problems get in the way.

Addressing those problems is an important part of our planning for 2028.

A Better Experience for Those Joining Online

We know that traveling to London will not be possible for everyone. Making the symposium accessible to those joining from the U.S. is a priority.

We will place particular emphasis on the preparation, technical support, and testing needed for reliable live online presentations. Our goal is to keep participants connected throughout the symposium so they can follow the presentations and benefit from the information being shared.
