In Loving Memory
With a heavy heart, we share the news of the unexpected passing of Marybeth Sullivan, the Superficial Siderosis Research Alliance Regional Director for the New York area. Marybeth was a fiery and bright individual known for her dedication and loyalty to her volunteer work with the Superficial Siderosis Research Alliance.
Marybeth’s first-hand experience with superficial siderosis, which she was diagnosed with many years ago, made her a passionate advocate for those struggling with the disease. Her contributions to Living with Superficial Siderosis, the Superficial Siderosis Research Alliance digital magazine website, and her role as a regional director were all testaments to her unwavering commitment to supporting the SSRA and its mission.
In addition to her volunteer work, Marybeth was a talented artist, a proud mother and grandmother, and a beloved friend to many. Her bright personality and fiery wit were often why directors’ team meetings would go over by more than an hour as she shared personal stories.
Although Marybeth had recently moved to South Carolina to be closer to her family, her absence will leave a hole that will not be quickly filled. Her contributions to the SSRA will always be remembered, and her legacy will continue to inspire and support those impacted by superficial siderosis.
We extend our deepest condolences to Marybeth’s family and friends during this difficult time. May her memory be a blessing to all who knew and loved her.
